Sukhpal Khaira skips Fazilka court hearing
Fazilka – AAP leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira once again did not appear in the Fazilka court after he got the stay orders from the Supreme Court of India. Sukhpal Singh Khaira had been summoned by Additional Session Judge Sandeep Singh Josan to appear in Fazilka court on Thursday. But his lawyers Gurjesh Bajaj Advocate and Romil Bajaj Advocate had appeared in the court with a copy of stay orders issued by the Supreme Court. The lawyers intimated the court that Sukhpal Singh Khaira could not appear in the court due to some reasons. Later on the hearing of case had been adjourned by the Additional Session Judge Fazilka till January 25, 2018. It is pertinent to mention here that the court had issued summon to Khaira and four other accused asking them to appear on December 21 to record their statements in the case under the NDPS Act. Others who were issued summons were Khairas personal security officer (PSO) Joga Singh, personal assistant Manish, Charanjit Kaur, a resident of Bath village (Jalandhar), and Major Singh Bajwa of Bajwa Kalan village (Jalandhar). Before this the Fazilka Court had had sentenced nine persons to imprisonment on October 31 in the trans-border heroin smuggling racket which Surfaced in 2015. Sukhpal Singh Khaira had not appeared in the Fazilka Court and later on he had appealed in the Supreme Court, from where had succeeded to get the stay order. The Fazilka Court had adjourned the hearing till January 25, 2018.
