Terrorist angle cannot be ruled out in RSS killings: DGP Arora
Phillaur(Kusum Arora) – Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Suresh Arora Monday said that ‘terrorist angle’ cannot be ruled out in the recent killing of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) leader Ravinder Gosain in Ludhiana. The DGP said that in the absence of any major lead or a group claiming the targeted killings, initial assessment hints at terrorist angle in such targeted killings. “We cannot rule out terrorist angle, as no clear motive has come to the fore so far”, he said. Arora was responding to a query that whether the recent killings of RSS leader Ravinder Gosain and Brigadier Jagdish Gagneja (retd), Namdhari sect leader Mata Chand Kaur, the killing of a pastor had a terrorist angle associated with them. The DGP shared these thoughts on the sidelines of passing out parade of officers and jawans at PPA Phillaur on Monday. He however evaded queries on any major clue in the killing of RSS leader Gosain. Notably, the Punjab government has recently handed over the case of RSS leader Ravinder Gosain to National Investigation Agency (NIA). The DGP has earlier stated in Jalandhar that with the NIA probing one case and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the killing of another RSS leader Brigadier Gagneja, the probe would be unified.
