Jalandhar:In a tragic incident, three out of a group of five youth who had gone to take a bath in river Beas in Miyani village of Hoshiarpur were feared drowned on Sunday afternoon.
The incident took place close to Tahli-Rarha villages near Miyani village under Tanda Police station of Hoshiarpur district.
Two youth, who were about to enter the river, were left witnessing the tragic drowning of their three friends, who had already gone for bath.
The five youth had gone together to take bath in the river, out of which three namely- Ravinder (18), Karan and Narinder, both aged 17 years were feared drowned. All the youth belonged to Ballan and Bathan villages.
Till the filing of the report, rescue operations to locate the missing youth was on. Sadly, the youth were all alone when they went for bath in the river.
As it was a lonely place, before the two youth, namely Harvinder (bother of Narinder) and Gurpal could raise an alarm, their three friends were caught in the under current of the river. Both Harvinder and Gurpal were all set to step inside the river, when the tragedy took place.
Immediately after the news spread, a team of police rushed to the spot while divers were called later.
Meanwhile, the hapless parents of the youth, friends and villagers who rushed to the spot were left praying for their early recovery but to no avail. ASI Tanda Bhupinder Singh informed that the rescue operation was still
