Tibetans completely boycott Chinese products to trade in India
Chandigarh(Narinder Jagga) – Before the beginning of winter season, the Tibetan refugees has migrated to Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. These are the refugees, who establish their winter Tibetan markets in different stations. But this time, these markets has different look. There are totally boycott of sale, purchase and use of Chinese made products. President of Tibetan Market, Chandigarh, Mr. Searing Rabten told that China has challenged the dignity and culture of Tibetan, therefore it has been decided to boycott China made items in our markets, although we have to face lose. For the last ten years, Tibetian markets has been stalled at sector 17 and Mani Majra of Chandigarh, Zirakpur, Mohali, Patiala, Bathinda, Jalandhar, Amritsar and Ropar of Punjab, Riwari, Bhiwani, Karnal,Sonipat, Panipat and Ambala of Haryana in each and every year in winter season. Each market has more than 20 shops.Till last year Chinese products like socks, Blankets, Leggings, Baby suits, Thermos, Bolls, show pieces and gift items were sold with other Indian products. But this time they have only Indian made items to sell. But few months ago after the dictatorial attitude of China against Tibet, Tibetan culture and Dalia Lama, the Tibetan refugees has felt it challenge against their dignity. A meeting in this regards was organised in Ludhiana in April month, in which it was decided to teach a lesson to China by boycotting China made products in their markets. President of Tibetan Market, Zirakpur, TT told that although there may be fall in the income, but they preferred to protect the dignity of their culture. He said, although their steps will not affect to China much, but they are satisfied with the decision. Sapna, Tibetan working girls who has come with her parents to help them in Zirakpur told, it will be better to live with self-respect and on the voice of their soul; despite to earn money by selling China made products. Another lady Sita told that people prefers their items because of cheapest rate, good quality and no taxes and their society has decided to start campaign to beat china made items by selling items at low cost. Although another ladies has no more information about the decision against the China made items, but they told that they will follow the decision taken by Tibetan peoples.
