Jalandhar: Following former premiere of British Columbia Ujjal Dosanj statement that NRIs were fed up with the recent turmoil in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), its manifesto committee chairman Kanwar Sandhu on Monday said that he too felt it a few days ago but now the situation has changed.
Sandhu said that NRI Dosanjh has shared the same feedback, which they (AAP) too were getting from across the region a few days ago. “Dosanjh is an NRI and he has every right to share his disappointment and the common feedback. However, the situation was again in favour of AAP after the recent visit of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and his successful
rally at Baghapurana. NRIs would regain faith in AAP gradually”, he said. Kanwar Sandhu shared these thoughts on the sidelines of Punjab Dialogue for traders, industrialists and transporters regarding the election manifesto in Jalandhar on Monday evening. Answering a query on protests against the new AAP Punjab convener Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi in US recently and on his remark on drawing a comparison of party leaders with Panj Pyaras, Sandhu said, “I am not aware that in which context, he (Ghuggi) made that statement”, he
said.Talking about the loan waiver for farmers, Sandhu said that it would be done by AAP after two budgets. “First, we would waive off the loan on small farmers which is around Rs 36,000 crore and then we will move waive off other loans”, he added.
