Ludhiana: Focal Point police have registered a case of attempt to rape against tutor’s husband when six-years-old was sexually assaulted for two days in Mundian Khurd.
The police slammed Sections 376/511 (attempt to rape) of the IPC and Section 4 of Prevention of Sexual Crime against Children Act, 2012 against the accused, who has been identified as Kulwinder Singh of Lehri Colony of Mundian Khurd.
Earlier, the police were reluctant to register a case and allegedly pressurised the kin of the victim to arrive at a compromise.
Father of the victim alleged that on August 10, the tuition teacher’s husband attempted rape on the girl at his house. The girl narrated the entire incident to her mother after which they went to file a complaint at Mundian Kalan police post.
When contacted, ASI Balbir Singh, incharge at Police Post Mundian Kalan, said the family came with a complaint, but they went back themselves stating that the process of settlement is going on between them. Later, the family again appeared with complaint and the police registered a case in this context. The accused is at large. The police launched a manhunt for the arrest of the accused.
