In another jolt to Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) of MLA Simarjit Singh Bains, two close aides of Bains resigned from Party and joined Congress. Former Councilor Gurpreet Singh Khurana who was district president of Youth wing of Lok Insaaf party, core committee member and General Secretary resigned from all the posts of Party. Another leader Sukhwinder Singh Happy Kochar also resigned from the party.
Kochar and Khurana had contested Municipal Corporation elections on ticket of Lok Insaaf Party and were said to be close aides of Bains brothers. In his resignation to Simarjit Singh Bains, Gurpreet Khurana and Happy Kochar said that they were unable to serve people from the platform of Lok Insaaf Party. To find a better platform for serving the people, they have resigned from the party. Senior Congress leader kamaljit Singh Karwal arranged the joining of Kochar and Khurana in Congress and both the leader joined the party in presence of Incharge of Punjab Congress Asha Kumari, PPCC President Sunil Jakhar and others.
Few days ago, Vipan Sood Kaka, who was MLA candidate, had left Bains brothers.It is pertinent to mention here that it is not for the first time that close aide of MLA Bains and senior leader of Lok Insaaf Party has resigned. Earlier also, right hand man of Bains, Kamaljit Karwal has left him and joined Shiromani Akali Dal and later Congress. Apart from Karwal, Daljit Singh Grewal who is district president of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also left Bains. Jagbir Singh Sokhi, Parminder Soma, Satpal Lohara, JaswinderThukral and others have left Bains brothers and other political outfits.
