Vigilance Bureau nabs Jalandhar Improvement Trust employee for bribe. The Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Tuesday arrested a Jalandhar Improvement Trust (JIT) employee, Junior Assistant Sandeep Mittar seeking Rs 10,000 bribe from a person.Jagtar Singh Sanghera, a resident of Gohawar village has filed an application with JIT seeking change of name as owner of a flat holder. Sanghera owned a flat in Guru Gobind Singh Avenue run by the JIT and his father died some time ago.
After the death of his father, Sanghera approached the JIT officials for the required process of changing the name of the flat owner from that of his father’s name. However, despite running from pillar to post for a long time, his work was not done.Later he met Sandeep Mittar, who asked him to pay atleast Rs 15,000 for getting the work done, else it was not easy to do his work. Later, the final amount was fixed at Rs 10,000.On Tuesday, when Jagtar Sanghera reached the JIT office to pay Rs 10,000 amount, a VB team nabbed Sandeep Mittar red handed while taking bribe. VB Inspector Major Singh laid a well connected trap to catch the accused red handed on the spot.
