New Delhi:After casting his vote in DSGMC polls on Sunday, SAD candidate from Ward number 9, Punjabi Bagh and DSGMC General Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, “We will get the second term to run DSGMC affairs as Sikh community had shown a tremendous faith in us to run the committee in a transparent manner and keep introducing various welfare schemes for Sikh Sangat.”
Making a victory sign Sirsa further said, “We will win by a huge margin as excellent response had been pouring in from our supporters. Our party will get a clear majority. The people will vote for us taking into account our performance in the last term.
Speaking about his rival Paramjit Singh Sarna, Sirsa added that the Sikh community cannot forget the damage that Sarna has done to the community. His corrupt practices and lust for political power had resulted in a great loss of Sikh institutions.
Some institutes were sold to private hands, some were closed citing financial crunch. Religious stages were used for setting up Sarna’s ill-willed political agendas. He had been proved to be a total failure during his stint as DSGMC president.
The Delhi Sikh GurdwaraManagement Committee (DSGMC) polls held on Sunday witnessed a low turnout of 45.77 per cent.
Around 1,75,543 members of the community, which numbers around 8 lakh in the capital, voted. The polling percentages among the male and female were 45.61 and 45.92 respectively,” said a DSGMC
