Sultanpur Lodhi: The scene at Sultanpur Lodhi, Purani Anaz Mandi was more like Hollywood flick when two group of youngsters fired more than 70 rounds. Group of students belonging to Guru Nanak Khalsa College, on Saturday, took on each in the evening as a result people were seen running for shelter.
Terror spread immediately in the mandi and commission agents based there ran for their lives as bullets flew by them. Police reached the spot but youngsters already fled from the scene. Nobody was hurt but some vehicles were damaged by bullets. Police has booked seven students under attempt to murder case.
According to sources, two groups of Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Sultanpur Lodhi clashed after head of one group Surjit Singh Laddu, was elected President and Harvinder Padaa was elected as vice president of college union. Winner group was celebrating win in Purani Anaz Mandi on the shop of SAD Sultanpur Lodhi President Rajiv Dhir. Nearly three dozen students from opposite group reached there in cars and started firing on their vehicles. Panic spread in the town as people hear about firing incident.
Bullets pierced through tyres and chasis of two parked cars at the spot. DSP, Sultanpur Lodhi, Pyara Singh told media persons that they have booked Jit Singh Mirpur,Suchha Singh, Joban,Mithu, Manjinder Singh, Lakhwinder Singh and Jagrup Singh. “We have registered the case on statement of Surjit Singh laddu under Sections 307 IPC. We will arrest the accused soon,” said Pyara Singh.
