Ludhiana: To mark the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi by planting saplings in different areas of city on Saturday, the Youth Congress activists led by district president Rajiv Raja, Incharge of Ludhiana Youth Congress Gurkimat Sidhu planted saplings near Old Court Chowk and also in Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, Sherpur, Rajguru Nagar, Hambran Road, Focal Point and some other areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Gurkimat Sidhu said that it was due to efforts of the slain Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi that the people were using computers and internet. Rajiv Gandhi always focused on innovations and technology, he added.
District Youth Congress president Rajiv Raja said that on the birth anniversary, the Youth Congress activists have taken pledge to work hard and to form the Congress government in 2017.
Manipal Singh Rania, Harbhajan Singh Lohara, Sushil Bhatti, Sabbi Toor, Gurjeet Seenh, Yogesh Handa, Parvinder Singh Gabbi, Mehtab Bunty besides several others were present on the occasion.
