Ramya Krishnan known as Bahubali’s Rajmata Sivgami who turns 47, is celebrating her birthday bash today. Ramya Krishnan was born on September 15, 1970 in Madras, Tamil Nadu, India. She has acted in over 200 films in five languages but the fame that has achieved from Baahubali is not achieved from any other film (Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi). Krishnan has won three Filmfare Awards, two Nandi Awards and a Tamil Nadu State Film Award. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress – Telugu for the 2009 FDramedy Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam.She received initial training in Bharathanatyam, Western and Kuchipudi dance forms and has given many stage performances. She has won more than dozen of awards which includes 3 Filmfare Awards. Ramya in ‘Chote Miyan Bade Miyan’ movie was seen romancing with Govinda.She got married to Telugu film director Krishna Vamsee on June 12, 2003. Both have a son, whose name is Ritvik.At the age of just 13, Krishnan started her acting in 1984 with the Malayalam film Neram Pularumbol. Her first release was Vellai Manasu (1985), a Tamil film. She has been a judge in a dancing show on STAR Vijay: Jodi Number One, season 1.Ramya was already doing well in the South Film Industry, but the Bollywood’s glamour pulled her into Hindi movies. Ramya got her first Hindi film in 1988.The film was ‘Dayavan’, in which Vinod Khanna and Madhuri Dixit were with him. However this film did not give her some special recognition, because she was in the role of a dancer in movie.In addition to playing lead role in many TV serials of Suntv, Ramya worked in the popular Hindi serial ‘Shaktiman’ too.
In her latest movie Baahubali-the conclusion gave immense popularity with which today she is known as Rajmatha more than Ramya. She herself said that, Sivagami is her career best character.
