Sri Anandpur Sahib:Unique museum Virast e Khalsa re-opened August 1. ” Viraste-e-Khalsa” is a unique museum showcasing the glorious history of the Khalsa Panth and a large number of visitors from different parts of the country as well as from abroad visit ” Virasat-e-Khalsa”. The 5th half yearly repair and maintenance work to ensure proper upkeep of the world renowned Virsat-e-Khalsa, Anandpur Sahib has been completed.Giving this information, Chief Executive Officer, Virsat-e-Khalsa, Shivdular Singh Dhillon said that the Virast-e-Khalsa would be re-opened for the visitors from August 1.
With a view to ensuring proper upkeep of the state of the art ” Virasat-e-Khalsa” , requisite repair and maintenance work is conducted twice in a year i.e. from July 24 to 31 and December 24 to 31 every year, further said the CEO. So far, more than 80 lakh tourists have visited the Virast-e-Khalsa.
There are 27 gallaries for the tourists to have an insight into the rich heritage, traditions , culture and events associated with the Khalsa Panth as well as Punjab “, said the CEO adding that the visitors especially the young generations had been having mesmerizing experience during their visit to ” Virast-e-Khalsa”.
The foundation stone of the ” Virast-e-Khalsa” was laid on April 14, 2006 by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. It is worthwhile to mention here that during their recent visit, the Tourism Minister, Navjot Singh Sidhu and the Speaker, Punjab Assembly, Rana KP Singh, have disclosed that the innovative potentialities for developing ” Virast-e-Khalsa” into a tourist hub are being mooted.
