CHANDIGARH: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Saturday demanded the registration of a criminal case against AAP leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira for indulging in anti-national activities by supporting “Referendum 2020,’ which called for the break-up of India. In a statement here, former minister Bikram Singh Majithia said not only was Khaira advocating break up of Punjab from India but also was inciting communal passions and threatening hard won peace of Punjab.Asking AAP Convenor and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal why he was quiet on this issue, Majithia said Kejriwal should tell whether he supported Khaira’s stand. “If not he should tell Punjabis why he has not taken action against Khaira till yet,” he added. The Akali leader also asked AAP party and it legislators in Punjab whether they supported Referendum 2020′ which was propped up by known ISI agent Gurpatwant Pannu.“The legislators should also tell whether they believed in the democratic process of election which was prevalent in India and whether outside forces should be allowed to decide the destiny of the country,” he said. The Akali leader said that Khaira was also honour bound to tell Punjabis why he as an elected member who was bound by the Indian constitution had supported the Referendum demand.
