Srinagar In an effort to eradicate the use of drugs among the youth of Kashmir , Kashmiri Sikh Community leader Indumeet Singh started a campaign under which the youth will be taught the side effects of drugs on health.
The campaign started from the Imamiya Public School Meer Behri Dal, where a day long seminar on Drug De-Addiction was organised in which School students, teachers and number of youth also participated. Speaking on the occasion , Indumeet Singh said, ” We have found that drug addiction is increasing among the youth of Kashmir . It is also leading to an increase in petty crimes” adding he said “I thought we should come out together as society to end this evil.
We have started our Drug De-Addiction campaign which will focus on minimising the use of drugs among youth of our state”. There is a need to identify the sellers who is involving our youth in drugs and should be booked under strict law,” he said. I will fight against drugs de-addiction till my last breathe to save the young generation of my Kashmir from the destruction,” Indumeet Singh said.It is pertinent to mention that the campaign is supported by ‘Foundation for Drug free World ‘ a USA based organisation , SAYA and Hope Ray both Srinagar based NGO’s and the youth of Kashmir.
