Khalsa Raj was established on this day According to the Nanakshahi calendar, on this day, the great general of the Sikh community, Baba Banda Singh Bahadar, after winning the Sirhind, declared Khalsa Raj in Sirhind. According to the historical date, on 27 May 1710, Banda Singh Bahadar declared ‘Khalsa Raj’ by placing Darbar-e-Aam at Sirhind. On this special day, Baba Banda Singh Bahadar issued coins and pearls in the name of the Gurus.Baba Banda Singh Bahadar had liberated Sirhind from the possession of Mughals six years after the martyrdom of the younger Sahibzade. Banda Singh killed the killers of Sahibzada in the battle of Chapparchiri, the governor of Sirhind, Wazir Khan, and Sirhind was won by the Sikhs. According to the revised Nanakshahi Calendar, the Sikh community has celebrated Sirhind Fatah Divas 12, 13 and 14 May.
