Skoda Monte Carlo launched in India at Rs 10.75 lakh. Skoda Auto India has launched its new Rapid based Monte Carlo in India at a starting price of Rs 10.75 lakhs (Ex-Showroom). Skoda Monte Carlo is available in two petrol and two diesel variants. The petrol variants of the car are priced at Rs 10.75 – 11.75 lakh (Ex-Showroom) and the diesel Monte Carlo costs between Rs 12.46 – Rs 13.57 lakh (Ex-Showroom).The design on the Skoda Monte Carlo is inspired from the company’s heritage of motorsports and gets two select dual-colour options: flash red with black roof and candy white with black roof. The overall dimensions of Monte Carlo are same as that of the Rapid but get more muscle, aggressive lines and the crystalline appearance that resonates with the SKODA’s new design legacy that we have seen on the 2017 Skoda Octavia and will be seen on the upcoming Kodiaq SUV.
The car features black radiator grille and the black wing mirror housings along with the rear black tailgate spoiler further accentuate the sportiness of the car. It also gets a dual tone 16-inch alloy wheels and the rear black grained diffuser adding sporty character. A Monte Carlo badge has been added on each of the B-pillars. Monte Carlo follows Skoda’s claim of ‘one nation, one price’.
On the inside, Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo gets a 3-spoke super sports flat bottom steering wheel finished in black perforated leather and red stitching. The gearstick knob also gets the same black and red treatment. The driver and passengers seats get special sporty Monte Carlo leatherette seats completed in a black/red design with grey vertical stripes.
The front door sill bears the Monte Carlo scuff plates. The dashboard features a 6.5-inch touch-screen infotainment that also supports Google Android Auto and Apple Car Play along with navigation. Skoda Monte Carlo also gets smart features like rain-sensing wipers and rear park assist.
The diesel engine on the Monte Carlo is powered by a 1.5 litre TDI engine that produces 110PS of power and a torque output of 250 Nm claiming a fuel efficiency of 21.72 kmpl with the DSG gearbox and 21.13 kmpl on the manual transmission variant.
