Asian Athletics Championships 2017 are underway and India’s Manpreet Kaur won first Gold medal for India in this competition on it’s first day. Manpreet, a mother of a five-year-old, is a shot put player and threw 18.28m to claim the top medal in Bhubaneshwar. Although she couldn’t break her previous record of 18.86 meters at Grand Prix in China but somehow managed to win the gold. She had qualified for the World Championships in London in April. Also, she has broken the national record twice in last 20 months. She made a comeback after a three-year gap due to birth of her child.
