Deccan Airways operate daily Shimla Jubbarhatti Himachal.
Deccan Airlines has agreed in principle to start its flight on the Shimla-Delhi route. Modalities are being worked out with the Airport Authority of India and the Civil Aviation Ministry so that flights can be started by the end of this month or the first week of August. The start of another Deccan Airways flight from Jubbarhatti airport, near here, from next month comes as a big relief to locals as well as tourists, with almost one-month advance booking in the lone Alliance Air flight currently operating from the state capital.Dinesh Malhotra, Director Tourism and Managing Director, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC), said Deccan Airlines is likely to operate the flight every afternoon. “The pricing of tickets will on the same pattern as Alliance Air, where 50 per cent tickets are subsidised and the rest fluctuate,” he said.It was after a span of almost four-and-a-half years that flights were resumed from Himachal when Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched these in April. However, the ATR-42 flight being provided by Air Alliance is proving to be far from adequate to handle the rush of tourists.
