The Vishwa Hindu Parishad,an affiliate of the RSS, has upped the ante on Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that it completely rejected his argument to wait till the court verdict arrived on the Ramjanbhoomi mattter before contemplating any other course of action. Speaking to the Daily Post Working president VHP Alok Kumar said “the Hindu society cannot be expected to wait till eternity for a Court decision. The only appropriate way forward is to enact a legislation clearing the way for the construction of a Grand Temple at the Ramjanmabhumi – Now.” The VHP shall continue its campaign to achieve this demand and for this in the matter shall be decided by the Saints at the Dharm Sansad on 31st January 2019 during Kumbh at Prayagraj. He said the plea of early hearing in the said the plea of early hearing in the court was not accepted.
The Ramjanmabhumi matter has been pending before the Courts for 69 years. The appeals have been pending in the Supreme Court since 2011. It has been a long wait””, said Alok Kumar. He contented that the matter was now listed on January 4, 2019, not ‘before the appropriate bench’, but again in the Chief’s Court The appropriate bench has not been constituted. The formalities in some appeals are yet pending. The hearing may yet be far away. The VHP, considering the overall situation, continues to be of the firm view that the Hindu Society cannot be expected to wait till eternity for a Court decision. When asked if it was the BJP’s agenda that the VHP was trying to push, Kumar said it was an apolitical campaign in which all those in favour of the Shri Ram temple construction were welcome to join. “We are not depending on political leaders for this campaign. Instead, we are joining saints and religious leaders from across spectrum to build a movement for the cause”, he added. He said the campaign would spread in due course to all the 345 Lok Sabha constituencies.
