Fazilka police arrested interstate robbers gang. Fazilka Police here claimed to have arrested seven gangsters involved in dacoities, extortion and highway robberies on Tuesday. The seven are residents of Fazilka and Sri Gangnagar district in Rajasthan. Fazilka senior superintendent of police Swapan Sharma said the gang operating in Fazilka, Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh in Rajasthan and Sirsa district of Haryana had been active since the past one year and its members were evading arrest by constantly changing their safe houses in different states.The accused have been identified as Kulbeer Singh, who was carrying .32 bore pistol, Gurpreet Singh, who too was armed with.32 bore pistol, Atul Kumar, alias Jelly, Harashdeep Singh, alias Monu Katta, Baljeet Singh Babbu and Karanveer Singh Rubal. A case under Sections 399, 402 and 412 of the IPC and Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act have been registered against them.The SSP said the gang was wanted in several criminal cases, including robberies at Sat Guru Filling Station in Gobindgarh village and commission agent Rahul Nagori’s shop and Khurana petrol pump in Abohar. He said that the accused were involved in gang wars in Sri Ganganagar and nearby towns. Several cases had been registered against them in Abohar area in the last couple of years.
