Ludhiana: Income tax Department carried out awareness rally in which large number of students of Khalsa College for women participated on Tuesday. IT department officials created the awareness to pay Income Tax for the development of nation.
The rally was flagged off by Chief Commissioner of Income Tax BK Jha and Principal Director (Investigation) of IT department Praneet Sachdev flagged off rally from Ghumar Mandi. The rally crossed Ghumar Mandi and other areas and reached Aarti chowk.
Mansi, a student said that they were motivated with the awareness campaign of Income Tax department. She said that they will pay Income Tax after getting jobs. They will also motivate their parents, friends and relatives to pay income tax.
Another student Priya said that they were made understand that paying income tax will benefit them in return. Paying Income Tax will help in building and development of our nation, she added.
Income Tax department officials said that the purpose for organising rally was to create awareness among the masses to pay income tax and file IT returns. The officials also warned the public for tax evasions.
