On Wednesday, Supreme Court strike Unitech for not repaying money to the people, who had invested in two housing projects in Noida and Gurgaon. Both the projects are running years behind schedule.The court lined, Unitech have to pay Rs 5 crore within two weeks and the remaining Rs 10 crore by the end of September as both projects are running year behind the schedule.
Adding on to this, Unitech said that they are pleased with the order passed by Supreme Court because it has agreed to judge all issues on merits.From last few months; Unitech has faced many problems related to delayed delivery of flats. Its two managing directors of – Ajay Chandra and Sanjay Chandra – were awarded three-year imprisonment for defying Punjab Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission’s order for returning the cost of a residential unit to a consumer and paying a fine.
