5 ways to protect your feet in Monsoon.Rains do bring relief from the sweltering heat but that’s followed by more pollution, more dirt and more mud damaging your skin a lot! Believe it or not, your hands and skin are the most sensitive part of your body. And with monsoon comes the hassle of trudging through dirty pavements and water filled roads. Yes, your feet have to tolerate the brunt of all and hence you got to take extra care. So, note down the precautionary measure while enjoying an energizing break from the intolerable warmth with the onset of monsoon.1. Home Pedicure: Once a week, indulge yourself in pedicure. Soak your feet in lukewarm water for 15 minutes. Add a bit of soap wash or lemon juice to the water, cleanse you feet and nails with scrapper. Apply nail cream and do not push the cuticles.Toe nail fungal infections are very common during monsoons.2. Take an Extra Pair of Socks: The easiest way to protect your feet from the dust and dirt is to wear socks and carry one spare pair of it all the time. Wet feet can lead to fungal infections. Socks will thwart your feet from getting soggy and incurring infections of any sort. Make sure to remove your shoes and socks if they are dry because healthy feet need air. This is one of the most important measures to perform during the monsoon season.3. Coconut oil for cracked heels: Cracked heels can be painful. Treat them by rubbing some coconut oil gently over the affected area and leave it on overnight. Coconut oil moisturizes your skin and makes your heels smooth. You can cover with socks to allow the skin to totally absorb the oil.4. Curd: The good-old cooling curd works like magic for removing sun tan. Apply it every alternate day on your feet and leave it on for 10-15 minutes before you wash off. You see a difference in two-three applications.5. Wash your feet in warm water: Wash your feet with soap or any hand wash to remove that dirt and grim. Remove your nail polish with an acetone-free nail polish remover. Take some warm water in a tub, add 1 tablespoon of your favorite body wash, 2 tablespoon of rosewater, two drops of Dettol and wash your feet in it. Dettol is an antiseptic liquid and so it helps to kill the bacteria and any infection causing germs and also provides protection against germs.
