Video of Wild boar killing goes viral Police lodges FIR. A video clip of killing of wild boar went viral on social networking sites on Tuesday. Taking a note of video and following the complaint the Koomkalan Police have registered case in this context.The wild boar is a protected species under schedule III of the Act. The Police have booked two persons under sections 3, 39 and 51 of Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 at Police station Koomkalan. According to information fire was put in forest area allegedly by land mafia and animals came out from forest area. As the fire engulfs in forest area wild animals including boars and Sambhar deer came out.
The persons present on the spot attacked half burnt wild boar with sticks and sharp edge weapons. After killing it, they are also seen taking it away. An eyewitness said that some persons killed wild boar and then ate them. Following the complaint of Range officer (Wildlife) the police have booked two suspects Mewa Singh and Ranjit Singh from village Mand Chaunta.SHO at police station Koomkalan said that they have initiated investigation after registering the case. They have also received video as evidence, he added.
