Ludhiana: A day after the murder attempt on Sikh preacher Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale, the Ludhiana Police claimed to have arrested four persons involved in the attack. However the police didn’t reveal the identity of the accused. The accused were arrested on the basis of CCTV footage procured by Police from different locations.
Confirming the development Commissioner of Police Jatinder Singh Aulakh said that four persons were arrested and rest were identified. The identity of culprits and motive behind the attack can’t be disclosed as it could affect the further investigation, said Police commissioner. He further said one car and weapons were also recovered from the spot and further investigation is on. The absconding accused will be arrested shortly, he added.
Sources said that the accused belong the organisation against whom Dhadrianwale has issued statements. The CCTV footage procured by the police reveals that the accused have loaded weapons and material to install tent in vehicles bearing the stickers of Sikh organisation. The police have detained around 7 persons for questioning, added sources.
Meanwhile Baba Bhupinder Singh who was killed during the attack was cremated at village Khasi Kalan under high security cover. Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale. Baljit Singh Daduwal, AAP leader Sucha Singh Chottepur besides several others attend the cremation. Dhadrianwale warned that if Police will not arrest all the culprits till Thursday evening then they will announce next course of action for struggle against the government and Police.
Earlier the supporters of Bhai Bhupinder Singh has staged protest at Samrala chowk by Keeping the body on road. They demanded the Police to arrest the culprits and reveal the motive behind the attack.
