Youngsters collect one lakh Units of Relief Material for Kerala flood Victims

The city residents, NGOs mainly youngsters were all out to help the flood victims of Kerala. On Thursday, the young members of NGO initiators of Change collected and sent one lakh units of relief material to Kerala. The three trucks carrying the material were flagged off from Ludhiana which will be further airlifted from Delhi on Friday. Founder of initiators of Change Gouravdeep Singh said that eight members of Team Initiators Of Change are also leaving to Kerala to serve people on 29th August. 

In relief material they have collected ten thousand bedsheets and blankets, twenty thousand shirts and T-Shirts, twenty thousand children’s garments, 5000 Sanitary Pad Packings, 20000 ladies garments, 15000 Footwears, 10000 masks and 10 cartons of medicines. Meanwhile, the textile fraternity of Punjab and Chandigarh also dispatched a truck full of packets of biscuits, blankets and rice to Kerala. Sonu Nilibar, General Secretary of the Punjab Cloth Merchants Association and organiser for this project ‘AID KERALA’ said, “It’s a very small gesture for Kerala, which is often called Gods own Country and the good part of this collective contribution is that we are not disclosing  any individuals financial contribution in any platform however small or large donation it might be, as it defeats the purpose of Sewa.
