ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ਦੁਨੀਆ ਨ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ਜੋ ਮਰਿ ਵੰਞਸੀ ॥ ਲੋਕਾ ਨ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ਜੋ ਮਰਿ ਖਾਕੁ ਥੀਈ ॥੧॥ ਵਾਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਬਾ ਵਾਹੁ ॥ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਦਾ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਸਚਾ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਕੇਰੀ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦਝਿ ਮਰੰਨਿ ॥ ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਬਧੇ ਮਾਰੀਅਹਿ ਵੇਲਾ ਨ ਲਾਹੰਨਿ ॥੨॥ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਕਾਰਥਾ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਗੰਨਿ ॥ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਸਹਜੇ ਸੁਖਿ ਰਹੰਨਿ ॥੩॥ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਰਚੰਨਿ ॥ ਤਿਸਨਾ ਭੁਖ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਲਤ ਫਿਰੰਨਿ ॥੪॥ ਦੁਸਟਾ ਨਾਲਿ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਨਾਲਿ ਸੰਤਾ ਵੈਰੁ ਕਰੰਨਿ ॥ ਆਪਿ ਡੁਬੇ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਸਿਉ ਸਗਲੇ ਕੁਲ ਡੋਬੰਨਿ ॥੫॥ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਭਲੀ ਕਿਸੈ ਕੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੁਗਧ ਕਰੰਨਿ ॥ ਮੁਹ ਕਾਲੇ ਤਿਨ ਨਿੰਦਕਾ ਨਰਕੇ ਘੋਰਿ ਪਵੰਨਿ ॥੬॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ! ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਾਮਦ ਨਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਫਿਰ, ਦੁਨੀਆ ਤਾਂ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਗੀ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਵਡਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਫਿਰ, ਖ਼ਲਕਤ ਭੀ ਮਰ ਕੇ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਗੀ।੧। ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ ! ਤੂੰ ਧੰਨ ਹੈਂ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਲਾਹੁਣ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈਂ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਸੜ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਸਾੜ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਹ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਅੰਤ) ਜਮਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਚੋਟਾਂ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤਦੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਹੱਥੋਂ ਖੁੰਝਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦਾ) ਸਮਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ॥੨॥ ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਪਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।੩। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰੇਹ ਭੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ (ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ) ਸੜਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ।੪। ਅਜੇਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭੈੜੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਤਾ ਗੰਢੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਆਪ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਸਮੇਤ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ) ਡੁੱਬ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ (ਆਪਣੇ ਹੋਰ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ) ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਡੋਬ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੫। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ! ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਭੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਉਹੀ ਬਦਨਾਮੀ ਖੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੬।

Do not praise other people; they shall die and turn to dust. ||1|| Waaho! Waaho! Hail, hail to my Lord and Master. As Gurmukh, forever praise the One who is forever True, Independent and Carefree. ||1||Pause|| Making worldly friendships, the self-willed manmukhs burn and die. In the City of Death, they are bound and gagged and beaten; this opportunity shall never come again. ||2|| The lives of the Gurmukhs are fruitful and blessed; they are committed to the True Word of the Shabad. Their souls are illuminated by the Lord, and they dwell in peace and pleasure. ||3|| Those who forget the Word of the Guru’s Shabad are engrossed in the love of duality. Their hunger and thirst never leave them, and night and day, they wander around burning. ||4|| Those who make friendships with the wicked, and harbor animosity to the Saints, shall drown with their families, and their entire lineage shall be obliterated. ||5|| It is not good to slander anyone, but the foolish, self-willed manmukhs still do it. The faces of the slanderers turn black, and they fall into the most horrible hell. ||6||
