ਕੋਟਿ ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ॥ ਰਿਧਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਸੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ॥ ਅਨਿਕ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਭੋਗ ਰਸੈ ॥ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਮਖ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੈ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਸੂਰਬੀਰ ਧੀਰਜ ਮਤਿ ਪੂਰਾ ॥ ਸਹਜ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਧੁਨਿ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰਾ ॥ ਸਦਾ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਾਮ ॥ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ॥੨॥ ਸਗਲ ਸੂਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਅਰੋਗ ॥ ਸਮਦਰਸੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਨਿਰਜੋਗ ॥ ਆਇ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਡੋਲੈ ਕਤ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਬਸੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥੩॥ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ॥ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਉਤਰੈ ਚਿੰਦ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਟਹਲ ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਕਾਮੁ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੨੬॥

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਦੱਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ, ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਫੋਰ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਰੂਪਾਂ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਇਕ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੂਝ-ਬੂਝ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ (ਉੱਚੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਰਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ (ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ; ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਜਪਾਂ ਤਪਾਂ (ਦਾ ਫਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।੧। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ) ਸੂਰਮਾ ਹੈ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਹੈ, ਪੂਰੀ ਅਕਲ ਅਤੇ ਧੀਰਜ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਲਗਨ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੨। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕਿਤੇ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਿਤੇ ਡੋਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ) ਪੂਰੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ (ਮਾਨਸਕ) ਰੋਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੩। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਹੈ, ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ (ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ) ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। (ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹੀ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ (ਦੱਸਿਆ) ਕੰਮ ਹੈ।੪।੧੫।੨੬।

Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl: Millions of meditations and austerities rest in him, Along with wealth, wisdom, miraculous spiritual powers and angelic spiritual insight. He enjoys the various shows and forms, pleasures and delicacies; The Naam, the Name of the Lord, dwells within the heart of the Gurmukh. ||1|| Such is the glorious greatness of the Name of the Lord. Its value cannot be described. ||1||Pause|| He alone is brave, patient and perfectly wise; He is intuitively in Samaadhi, profound and unfathomable. He is liberated forever and all his affairs are perfectly resolved; The Lord’s Name abides within his heart. ||2|| He is totally peaceful, blissful and healthy; He looks upon all impartially, and is perfectly detached. He does not come and go, and he never wavers; The Naam abides in his mind. ||3|| God is Merciful to the meek; He is the Lord of the World, the Lord of the Universe. The Gurmukh meditates on Him, and his worries are gone. The Guru has blessed Nanak with the Naam; He serves the Saints, and works for the Saints. ||4||15||26||
