Ludhiana: Around 12 days after the 27-year-old woman had committed suicide the police have registered abatement to suicide case on Thursday.
The deceased, a resident of Civil Lines had committed suicide when she was alone at home. Initially, the parents did not record statement before the police but after the statement the police have registered abatement to suicide case.
The police officials revealed that the deceased was upset as the boy she wanted to marry denied marrying her.
Following the statement of father the deceased, the police have registered a case against Pankaj Sapra, his father Sham Lal, mother Veena and sister Mona, all residents of Sarabha Nagar under Section 306 (abatement to suicide) of the IPC.
The complainant stated to the police that Pankaj was in relationship with the deceased and both had agreed for the marriage. Later, Panjak had refused for engagement and left the deceased in depression.
Balbir Singh, Investigation Officer (IO) in the case at Police Division No.8 said that case has been registered and further investigation is on.
On September 7, the deceased girl had committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance. At the time of incident, the family members had gone to Rajasthan.
