Nawanshahr: If talks with senior AAP leadership in state are anything to go by, many of the party nominees are really on “probation period” during which they are expected to show good results to avoid cancellation of their tickets. And in this context, allegations made by party candidate from Bhoa Vinod Kumar against party leaders Sanjay Singh and Durgesh Pathak, could not termed baseless.
As per sources, 15 nominees, many of them new entrants, have been asked to put up a “good account of themselves” in the coming weeks. These candidates were allegedly given tickets on the assurance that they would not only take care of financial aspect of their own constituency but would also have to contribute financially to the “two or three” adjoining seats also. A Facebook post by a party leader also gives credence to “nominees on probation theory”. The post adds that Bhoa candidate was one among those candidates who were issued the notice by the party high command. “But as he failed to launch a concerted campaign, fearing losing his ticket, he started accusing the party leadership of demanding money,” says the post. Around 14 more such nominees coming with accusations of corruption in the higher echelon of AAP cannot be ruled out in near future, as per the post.
Interestingly, though party leaders and workers on social media are trying their best to defend party leadership on corruption charges, in private they all accept that some tickets were indeed “sold” to meet the “financial implications” involved in the poll. “The theory of probation period is not just a figment of imagination,” confided a leader privy to the in-house happenings of the party to Daily Post.
