Ludhiana: The two-day trials for the formation of the Kabaddi team which will be representing India in the world cup matches of the Kabaddi 2016 was held here on Thursday and Friday at Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana.
Around 132 players have registered their names in the trials from all over the country to reserve their berth for the matches of the world cup. 66 players gave the trials under the criteria of radars and the remaining were the stoppers. It’s important to mention here that most of the players who took part in the trials were the beginners and they are not having the experience about how to handle the pressure during the matches. Only ten players were having the experience as they performed for country in the matches of the world cup held in recent past.
A player on requesting anonymity said that he participated in the trials for the very first time and he was totally nervous about how do the trials take place. On the one side, students were practicing regarding the 50th anniversary of the state and on the other side they were making arrangements for the trials. As the rehearsal ceremony was going on in the ground, we have to face the problem regarding the shortage of the area and some others were complaining about the same thing but under such circumstances players gave best of their performances.
