Patiala: The Gurdwara Khalsa Mohalla row took a new turn when all the Gurdwara management committees and all religious sewa societies join hands and formed a 21 member Joint Action Committee over it and to safe guards the interest of this Gurdwara, the newly formed Joint Action Committee (JAC) submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner on Friday demanding the immediate intervention from the state government in resolving this particular case as it links with the religious sentiments and soughting of the case will help in restoring the peace and communal harmony as well.
The president of the Khalsa Mohalla Committee, Kuldeep Singh Khalsa in a statement issued late this evening claimed that through the memorandum the Joint Action Committee has brought the whole matter in the notice of the district administration and also urged the Deputy Commissioner to bring immediately it into the notice of the state government so that the situation could be prevented from taking any ugly face as the anti-social elements are ever ready to take advantage of the situation for their personal motives for disturbing the hard won peace not only here but all over the state.
It is learnt that the Deputy Commissioner has assured the deputation of the Joint Action Committee to take up the matter with the State Government and make efforts to get resolve the matter before the due date.Kuldeep Singh Khalsa said that even though the court has passed an order in favour of the Punjab Wakf board and the said board want to take control of the building of Gurdwara. He urged the state government to intervene and get settled this matter as early as possible and all responsibility now lies over the state government. He said that the Joint Action Committee will protest against the decision but in a peaceful manner till the government resolves the matter.
On the other hand Patiala MLA, Preneet Kaur has already raised this sensitive matter in the Vidhan Sabha and also wrote a letter to the Chief Minister to save the situation from taking any bewilder turn. She even urged the Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha to ask the state government to intervene into the matter as the Punjab Wakf Board has to take control of the Gurdwara Building through the Police on September 20 and if it happened than it will disturb the Communal Harmony and peace too.
