EYEWITNESS REVEALS TRAGIC END OF A FAMILY
It was around 5. 30 am when I woke up and came on ground floor. ‘Bibiji’ Bachan Kaur was watching television in the lobby. Suddenly, ‘Saabji’ (Sir) fired on his wife who was sleeping along with him.
I shouted and ‘Sirji’ threatened me to leave the place or face dire consequences. I got scared and rushed to the room in the first floor. Later, more sounds of gunshots were heard but I kept myself closed in the room. After sometime, I moved to the gallery of the house but was unable to call any person for help. I didn’t have any mobile phone or not aware of the number of the police.
At 10.30 am, Anita (another domestic helper) came and raised an alarm. BOX-3 UNANSWERED QUESTIONS Though the police officials claimed that Sandeep Singh had first killed his wife and daughter and then killed self but some questions remained unanswered which also point out the role of some outsider in the killings. The differences in the statement of eyewitness and the police raised question mark on the theory of the police. The area residents were also shocked that the incident happened at 5. 30 am but the eyewitness did not reveal anything till 10.30 am.
The body of Sandeep Singh was lying straight on the bed which did not show the signs of suicide. If the theory of the police is to be believed Sandeep had killed his wife, mother and daughter in different rooms and floor of the house but again his body was lying on the bed along the body of his wife. The relatives of the deceased also demanded high level probe to know the exact cause of killings.
