Moga: A day after the AAP candidate Manjit Singh Bilaspur assaulted the AAP volunteers for protesting against his ticket allotment, the local police registered the case against Manjit Singh Bilaspur on Wednesday. The announcement of AAP candidate for Nihal Singh Wala constituency triggered the clash among the party local unit.
Complainant, Gurpreet Singh Brar AAP supporter said that the incident had taken place when he was returning to home after handing over the protest letter against the ticket allotted to Manjit Singh. He added that a group of people led by Manjit Singh intercepted his way and thrashed him with deadly weapons.
It was pertinent to mention that Gurpreet Singh among others staged protest against Manjit Singh’s ticket during Kejriwal’s rally on Tuesday at Nihal Singh Wala. With the motive of vengeance, Manjit Singh attacked claimed Brar in his statement.
Meanwhile, the police have registered the case against Manjit Singh, Sukhi Raunke, Nirbhay Singh, Lakshman Singh, Mandeep Manna and seven unidentified under sections 323, 427, 341, 506, 148 and 149 IPC.
