Faridkot: Police detained four local AAP leaders in connection with the blind murder and desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, on Thursday. The alleged accused persons have been identified as Jasvir Singh, Jarnail Singh, Avtar Singh and Kapur Singh.
It is pertinent to mention that the detained persons were involved in the incident of slapping Punjab cabinet minister Sikander Singh Maluka taking revenge after the initial desecration incident reported in state.
While conforming the development, SSP fardikot, Darshan Singh Mann said that during the course of investigation the police have questioned them regarding the said incidents. He added that no substantial evidence has been surfaced against them so far and ruled out their arrest.
While levelling the alleagtion against the police for falsely implicate the AAP supporters in criminal cases, local AAP leaders said that the police detained them without any evidence against them. Gurdit Singh Sekhon said that the police were targeting the AAP supporters following the political vendetta after getting direction from SAD government.
