Khanna: A great resentment prevails among local volunteers of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) against the sacking of Sucha Singh Chhotepur as the AAP’s Punjab convener. The volunteers have started openly coming in the favour of Chhotepur in the Khanna assembly constituency.
On Thursday, the AAP volunteers locked the party office located on the Malerkotla Road and staged a protest against their own party. The protestors said that under the present circumstanced, it would be a tough task for the party to win assembly elections in the state, even the party candidates would lose their securities. They said there was still time and the party’s national convener and Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal should roll back his all anti-Punjabis’ decisions and call back his Delhi team members from Punjab.
The protesters also announced to implement every programme of Chhotepur. The AAP’s ex-servicemen wing of Fatehgarh sahib’s zone incharge Nirmal Singh Rohanon said the condition of the party was getting deteriorated.
The protesters also released a memorandum in the name of Kejriwal through which they demanded that Kejriwal should felt excuse by reinstating Chhotepur. It was also demanded to withdraw all the party observers sent to Punjab from Delhi. They also demanded the setting up of a committee of the party’s state leadership in view of the assembly elections. It was also demanded to cancel the lists of the party candidates announced for forthcoming assembly elections.
The Intellectuals’ wing incharge Rajinder Walia said that the party leaders coming from UP and Bihar had arrived to “loot” Punjab. The protesters further alleged that these party leaders have collected about Rs.100 crore on the name of issuing the party tickets so far. They alleged that those who asked for showing the accounts were shown the “exit” door. They also regretted that Bhagwant Mann was also damaging the party with his acts.
The kisan cell incharge Swarn Singh Rajewal, Balwinder Singh Rajewal, Gurmail Singh, Manjit Singh Fauji, Varinder Rasoolra, Dharamjit Majri, Ml Shahi, Sunil Sharma, Gurwinder Singh, Nikka Singh Dhillon, Bhupinder Singh, Bant Singh Bhadla and others were present.
On the other hand, the Fatehgarh Sahib zone incharge Varinder Khara said that they were trying to pacify the annoyed party volunteers. He added they would convey the voice of these volunteers to the party high command.
