Ludhiana: Delegation of advocates, under the leadership of President District Bar Association (DBA) Vijay B Verma met with Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal regarding their demand for 8 acres of land, situated at rear side of court complex.
A memorandum in this regard, was handed over to Deputy CM. During meeting with Deputy CM, President DBA briefed facts about demands of advocates. According to him, there are more than 2,500 members in DBA, whom have not chambers for practice. There was not sufficient parking provision in present court premises. So, the state government should immediately provide 8 acres of land to advocates for construction of chambers complex, parking, law bhawan, library and canteen.
Supporting advocates, Vice President DBA Vippin Saggar said that state government should provide 8 acres of land to advocates for constructions of chambers and parking as there was no sufficient space in present premises.
In last days, advocates had protested strongly against GLADA, as GLADA had fixed auction of 8 acres land on August 24. But, due to dispute between advocates and GLADA, the auction was failed as nobody came forward for bid.
