Ludhiana: Taking a serious note of the news report `FB page of Ludhiana police lying unattended’, appearing in `Daily Post Ludhiana’ on June 6, the Ludhiana police have swung into action and started updating its `fb’ page from Tuesday onwards. In its report, Daily Post had reported that Ludhiana police have not updated Facebook page since April 28. Acting on this news report, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dhruman Nimbale taken up the issue and held a meeting with officials. DCP also assigned the duty to senior official for updating the facebook page on regular basis.
On Tuesday, the Ludhiana police updated profile photo of official `fb’ page and also uploaded the news clippings of achievements of Ludhiana police. Nimbale said that `fb’ page will be updated regularly but he cannot reveal that who will update the page. The `fb’ page of Ludhiana police was created to update the people regarding the activities of police and provide information to the residents. The last update was posted on April 28 but after the transfer of ACP Richa Agnihotri the `fb’ page was not updated properly. `fb’ page of Ludhiana police was followed by more than fifteen thousand `fb’ users. With the time to time updates and important information the number of followers was getting increased day-by-day.
The then ACP Traffic Richa Agnihotri has taken the responsibility to update the `fb’ page. After the transfer of ACP Richa the page was waiting for the update. Moreover, the `fb’ page of Traffic Police Ludhiana which was also followed by thousands of people was not updated from last one month. Finally, on Sunday the update was posted on Traffic Police `fb’ page. Meanwhile, `fb’ page of Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of Ludhiana Police Commissionerate was also not updated from last one year. The page was created with an idea to update details and photographs of the missing children and seeking help from the people to trace the missing children.
