Ludhiana: Three days after launching the scheme Atal Apartments with much fanfare, the application forms for HIG and MIG flats are now available at the office of Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT). The scheme for LIT’s first green and eleven storied residential complex ‘Atal Apartments’ in 8.80 acres near Shaheed Karnail Singh Nagar was launched on September 20 but the application forms seekers were disappointed as the forms were not available anywhere till Thursday evening.
However, the authorities claimed that the response from public was good enough and till now 2,000 queries have been received.
A resident, Harminder Singh claimed that he visited the office of LIT twice to get an application form for MIG flat but it was not available. He said that he was waiting for launching of the scheme for more than last four years.”After getting form, I will apply for a flat”, he said.
Superintending Engineer of Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT), Rakesh Garg said that the forms are now available at LIT Office and HDFC Bank. He said that the scheme is open till October 19 and the residents can submit their forms by fulfilling required procedure.
An official of HDFC Bank informed that the forms will be made available at 62 branches in various cities including Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Phagwara, Patiala, Khanna, Bathinda, Fazilka, Dhuri, Moga, Muktsar and other districts of the state. The forms will also be available at selected branches of HDFC Bank at Karnal, Delhi, Lucknow, Ambala, Panipat and others by Monday.
The cost of a form is Rs.100 and the filled application can be submitted at the office of LIT and selected branches along with a demand draft as earnest money. Under this project, 242 flats for high income group (HIG), 220 flats for middle income group (MIG) and 48 flats for economically weaker section (EWS) will be constructed.
The earnest money for a HIG flat of 2110 square feet is Rs. 6.5 lakh while tentative cost of each HIG flat is between Rs. 66-67 lakh (according to the floor). A draw of lots will be conducted in November.
For MIG flats, earnest money for each flat of 1590 square feet is Rs.5 lakh while the tentative cost of a flat is between Rs. 49.50 lakh (for a flat at eleventh floor) and Rs.50 lakh (for a flat at ground floor).
