Ludhiana: With an aim to educate the students about the benefits of milk and its products, Punjab Dairy Development Board organised a milk consumers’ awareness seminar at Government Model Senior Secondary School, PAU on Wednesday.
This seminar was organised with the efforts of Dilbag Singh Hans, Deputy Director (Dairy), Ludhiana and was inaugurated by School Principal Sanjeev Thapar.
During the seminar, experts from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana and Dairy Development Department Punjab spoke in detail about the benefits of milk and milk products. Dr Karnail Singh and Dr Varinderpal Singh, both professors from GADVASU addressed the students during the seminar.
The samples of milk brought by students from home were also checked using the Automatic Milk Analyser and Adulteration Testing Kit and the reports were also handed over to the students on the spot. Around 250 students of class 10+1 and 10+2 of Government Model Senior Secondary School, PAU, participated in this seminar and more than 142 milk samples were checked. Literature educating about benefits of milk and products was also distributed amongst students. The students were also provided refreshments by Punjab Dairy Development Board.
