Reacting on the invitation of expelled Congress leader Jagmeet Brar to join May 21 rally and form another political front in the state, independent MLA from Ludhiana Simarjit Singh Bains refused the proposal of Brar. MLA from the Atam Nagar constituency and head of Team Insaaf Bains refuted the claims of Brar of having any meeting to discuss another political front in Punjab. He said that Brar had called him but he didn’t agree to meet and declined the invite to join the May 21 rally of Brar. Talking to Daily Post, Bains said that Brar has remained a senior leader of traditional party and he will never join him. The Team Insaaf has been formed to fight against corruption and change the system, said Bains while adding that the members of team Insaaf were not interesting in joining hands with any political party or leaders associated with parties who have changed stand from time to time.
On Tuesday, Jagmeet Brar had invited MLA Bains and his brother Balwinder Singh Bains, who also an MLA (from Ludhiana South), and a SAD MLA from Amritsar Inderbir Singh Bolaria for May 21 rally and to form another political front in Punjab. Another former Congress leader Bir Davinder and some others have already supported Brar. MLA Bains said that Jagmeet Brar was the member of the kitchen cabinet of the Congress party who ruled for several years. The Congress party was unable to deliver for the people, was involved in several scams but that time Brar remained silent. When asked about his future political plans, Bains said that elections will be fought under the banner of Team Insaaf at and main focus would be on all constituencies of Ludhiana district. Team Insaaf will also support like-minded candidates in other districts of the state. Commenting on the talks of joining Aam Aadmi party, Bains said that earlier talks were initiated and recently also AAP leaders have approached him but he has made him mind to contest elections under the banner of Team Insaaf only.
