Mohali: A roadshow was held by Balbir Sidhu, the Congress candidate from Mohali, on Thursday. Thousands of party supporters joined the road show, which started from Phase 11 and concluded at Phase 5.
Balbir Sidhu claimed that en route, the show received huge support from Mohali residents who joined and show and shouted slogans in favour of Congress party.
It may be mentioned here that Balbir Sidhu is eyeing another win from Mohali after winning 2012 election by the handsome margin of 17,000 votes. This time too, he is banking upon his good work done during his tenure besides his strong bond with the people of Mohali Assembly.
Speaking during occasion, Sidhu said that vote a candidate whom you know from long time and not to them who are new in arena. My party has shown confidence in me by giving me responsibility to serve you again. Now it’s up to you to vote for the right choice like you did in last election.”
“I reiterate again to continue to work for the development, dignity and prosperity of every citizen of Mohali if you give me another chance”, Sidhu said.
“You are well aware of my performance in past. I worked whole heartedly for Mohali people while sharing your joys and sorrows. As Mohali MLA, i have raised Mohali problems vehemently at all forums despite unresponsive Akali government at state.
I was in forefront in raising pro-people issues. For this reason I was figured among top 5 active MLAs in Assembly. Now I again commit you to serve with same passion, dedication and committee for you in case you give me another chance.”
Sidhu said further, after forming government in Punjab, Congress will bring revolutionary changes in Punjab development which otherwise has lost its sheen during past decade of misrule.
“Capt Amarinder Singh led Congress government will end drug problem in state in 4-week. A member from each family will get job. Rs. 2,500 monthly allowances will be given till the member get the job. The farmers loans will be written off besides ensuring full payment for farmers’ produce, food will be made available at Rs. 5, concrete houses for 5-lakh poor people will be constructed, 33 per cent reservation for women will be ensured and tariff rate of Rs. 5 per unit power for trade and industrial sectors, asserted Sidhu.
