Ludhiana: To help educators achieve, their potential in learning and leadership an edgy, dynamic and fun-filled leadership conference ‘Learning to learn’ was organised for senior teachers at BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar. This experience assisted teachers in embedding learning in their students and improving their well being and provided them a boatload of potential opportunities to take learning beyond the confines of a classroom.
Highly accomplished resource persons joined about 100 participants from various elite schools for three hours session sharing their expertise on innovative modules.
Kalpana Kapoor, master trainer for life skills and school health programmes initiated the session deliberating upon the role of mentoring which is far more crucial than explaining the course curriculum. Teaching is not just the art of explaining topics and transmitting knowledge to students.
To embed effective study skill techniques in the learner, supporting tools were delivered to engage all learners through various individual, close- pair and group activities.
Dr Paramjit Kaur, Principal in her welcome address deliberated on the need of professional development for teachers to enhance their knowledge and skills.
