Ludhiana: As a part of beautification project, Municipal Corporation Ludhiana has started the renovation work of dividers in the city including main Bharat Nagar Chowk of Ludhiana. All other dividers of city would also be beautified by MCL on the main roads in order to make the entrance of the city beautiful for the visitors.
A city resident, Vijay Kumar said, “It is a laudable effort by the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana as most of the dividers were broken in the city due to which youngsters move from the middle of them, which caused accidents. They are in dire need of revamping and it’s good that MCL has started work on it.”
Other than the dividers, to give a smart look to the industrial city, the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation has decided to beautify the main entry points and has designed special structures for the purpose. The authorities have finalized four designs made by an architect and their construction has also started. The Chownks, which have been taken up under the project, include Bharat Nagar Chownk, Gill Chownk and Samrala Chownk. The horticulture wing will plant saplings at these chownks during the monsoon season. Meanwhile, officials have already started beautification of the roads leading to these chownks.
Further RCC grills will be installed on the road divider from Ambedkar Chowk to Buddha Nullah which leads to the Jalandhar Bypass Chowk. These grills will also be installed on roads leading to Sherpur Chowk, Gill Chowk and Samrala Chowk.
Saplings will be planted on the dividers of Chandigarh Road, Ferozepur Road, from Samrala Chowk to Cheema Chowk, Jalandhar Bypass to Buddha Nullah, Jagraon Bridge to Sherpur Chowk, Vishwakarma Chowk to GNE College, Dandi Swami Road to Hambran Road and from Suffian Chowk to Oswal Hospital for the welfare of the city residents and beautification of the Ludhiana.
