Ludhiana: In yet another incident of loot in the city, around four unidentified persons looted fifteen Lakh cash from the money exchanger from his office near Jamalpur Chowk on late Monday night. The accused have threatened the victims with sharp edge weapon and took away cash in their I-20 car towards Chandigarh road.
Before leaving the spot the accused locked the victims inside the shop. However the neighbours tried to chase the accused but no avail.On being informed the police officials reached the spot and initiated investigation in the case. Commissioner of Police Jatinder Singh Aulakh also visited the spot on Tuesday morning and issue directions to the officials to crack the case.
According to information Rakesh Vij, money exchanger was counting cash along with his son Sahil in mobile phone company showroom in Vij complex near Jamalpur. At around 11.45 Pm an I 20 car stopped outside the showroom and two persons entered in the showroom and threatened the money exchanger.
The victim resisted to give cash but the accused snatched bag containing cash. Before leaving the spot the accused down the shutter and fled towards Chandigarh. The two accomplices were already sitting in the car. An auto rickshaw driver who was also standing outside the complex tried to chase the accused but no avail. The victim Rakesh Vij informed his brother over phone who rushed to the Showroom and opened the shutter.
The victim told Police that due to bank on Sunday they have collection of cash in their showroom only. The Police have checked CCTV cameras installed on Chandigarh road but didn’t found any footage. Meanwhile a case has been registered against unidentified persons at Police station Jamalpur in this context.
