Ludhiana: Child Rights Protection Commission Punjab have taken strict action against increasing problem of child begging in public places of state and chalked out action plan. The commission has asked the Deputy Commissioners to form task forces and submit report of beggars and children adopted by women.
Sukesh Kalia, Chairman of Commission said that it has been in the regular sight that there have been increasing cases of child beggars and women at every public places of the state whether they are traffic lights, bus stand and railway station. Strict legal action would be taken under Section 76 of Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act-2015 against the person forcing children into begging racket.
He further said that to remove the custom of child begging a action plan has been ready, to implement this instructions have been given to all deputy commissioners. According to this action plan to check on child begging tasks forces have been asked to form. The deputy commissioners have been asked to take strict legal action against those criminal groups who are forcing the children to beg.
