The condition of storeroom is too bad which can collapse anytime. The Punjab government must pay attention towards the working condition which is putting the lives of employees and visitors in danger claimed one of the visitors.
PWD had declared the building unsafe more than 10 years back but authorities are still waiting for some tragedy to happen. As several incidents occurred in past several years but government is least interested to shift the civil surgeon office to the safe building.
Earlier, a corridor at the civil surgeons’ office had fallen down after a heavy rain few years back. Satish Thaman resident of Rishi Nagar said, “This is the serious threat for the staff and visitors in the health department buildings.
Government should not wait for the serious tragedy to happen as hundreds of people visit health department regularly. Moreover, the civil surgeon office is not renovated after 1955. Authorities should take required steps regarding this issue”.
