Amritsar: On being found guilty of ragging a student of MBBS first year, principal of local government medical college has placed a final year student, Bhanu Vashisht, under suspension.
However, owing to the fear of humiliation of the college, neither someone from the top brass or the teaching fraternity is coming forward to say anything on the issue.
The incident took place in D and E blocks of the hostel. According to information, Bhanu, a final year student of MBBS in the college, took some of his classmates along with him and assaulted first year students. The erring final year students asked his junior ones take off all their clothes and then come to former’s rooms nude. However, one student
of the first year gave
them a slip and informed hostel superintendent on phone, who reached at the spot.
On seeing him, final year students fled from the spot. The first year students disclosed entire episode to superintendent and preferred to remain away from hostel rooms owing to fear of being nabbed again by senior students.
Sources further revealed that the matter was reported o college principal, Dr B S Bal, who asked members of anti-ragging committee of college to conduct a thorough probe into the allegations levelled by junior students.
