Jalandhar: Congress party workers led by PPCC General Secretary Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary on Sunday held a protest against BJP-led Centre government and SAD-BJP-led Punjab governments in Goraya.
A protest march was carried out in the main bazar here where Chaudhary along with congress workers burnt the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes.
Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhary said that the Modi government’s move to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1000 has virtually paralysed the functioning of every single house hold in the
country. Common man was traumatised and was the biggest sufferer in this chaos, he said.
He further added that the move would do little to uncash black money hoarded by the rich as they invest there black money in different assets and knew other ways than keeping it idle at home.
No money has been brought back from the Swiss Banks after two years of Modi government, neither has anybody received 15 lakh’s in there bank accounts as promised by the PM in his election rhetoric.
Coming down heavily on Badal government Chaudhary said that the government has failed to protect the legitimate rights of the state on (SYL issue) and were just busy playing the blame game. He reiterated that Congress under the leadership of Capt Amarinder Singh stands to protect every legitimate right of the state.
Prominent among others present were PPCC secretaries Ramlubhaya Punj, Ravinderpal Rinku, Resham Singh, MC Rashpal Kaur, MC Sukhraj Kaur, MC Anil Joshi, MC Harbans Lal Mehmi, MC Vimla Rani, Master Devraj Azad, Dara Boparai Chinta Dhillon, Jeevan Lal, Makhan Khera BCC president, Jaspreet Mankoo, Harpinder Malhi and others.
